Last Sunday August 2nd our parish was blessed with a group of nine (9) kids taking their First Communion. There were six (6) boys and three (3) girls who received Jesus in the Eucharist for the first time! The girls looked like princesses wearing white dresses and the boys looked like princes wearing a formal suit. The catechists Joanna Rodriguez and Sabrina Flores were present assisting their students before, during and after Holy Mass. Miss Sally, our CCD-Oratory Program Coordinator, was present taking care of all the details. The music organized by our music director, Facundo Lopez, was so solemn and at the same time so joyful proper to the occasion. Father John and father Fernando were concelebrating and I was thrilled to be the celebrant and be with our young people at this important moment in their journey of faith. In the middle of this pandemic, Our Lord Jesus comes to us, to confirm His Love and His fidelity to us. Congratulations to our kids who did their First Communion, God is good, all the time!

Hundreds of people gathered at the Cathedral Basilica of Sacred Heart on Saturday February 29th and March 1st for the Rite of Continuing Conversion and the Rite of Election. These ceremonies are part of the final preparation for those who will be fully initiated during the Easter Vigil and those who will receive their confirmation and/or First Communion during Easter time. Cardinal Joseph William Tobin presided the Rite of Election and Bishop Manuel Cruz presided the rite of continuing conversion. Our parish was represented by nine (9) catechumens and three (3) baptized catholics respectively.
